2. Florida state parks open reservations 11 months ahead at 8:00AM Eastern time. That's 8:00 AM and 00 seconds on the dot. Within a few seconds, whatever sites are available will be gone. It's very important to get yourself a good clock (like your cell phone) that's synced to an official clock (time.gov).

You've apparently not been paying attention, the colors red and green are on the rainbow flag and as a strictly precautionary measure, ie., to prevent otherwise unsuspecting State Park campers from possibly being recruited to the dark side, green and red have been banned in Florida. And in my experience, these rules about age NEVER apply to state or federal campgrounds. In most cases in these public campgrounds, you can make reservations ahead of time and select the site you want based on the size. Prime snowbird territory being SW Arizona, the RGV in south Texas, and the entire Florida peninsula. Generally all RV campgrounds south of I-40 and east of New Mexico are open rear round, and anytime from October to March is their slow season. There may of course be localized exceptions, for local events, etc.
Those pre-checked option boxes are getting to be a real PITA, especially since they like to hide them outside of your focus area. You might send a protest to the FTC and the LA state park people too. I've noticed that camping in state run parks is quite a bit cheaper than commercial camp sites, they also appear to get good reviews by the people who use them. How far in advance do you need to reserve a pitch in late June early July SC, NC, TN and GA. Thank you

A point of CoulterBay (GTNP) clarification- there are two (2) CG?s at Coulter Bay, One the ?Coulter Bay RV Park? a full service ?RV Park? with FHU?S that takes reservations. The other is the ?Coulter Bay Campground ? has no hookups and doesn?t take reservations. Both have about 300 sites and are basically across the road from each other.
