State Route 88 (SR 88) is a highway generally running in an east–west direction in the northeastern portion of the U.S. state of Ohio.Its southern terminus is in Portage County at SR 59 at the intersection of Freedom Street with Main Street in Ravenna. [2]
East Greenville had its start when a post office called Greenville was established there in the 1820s. [2] The name was changed to East Greenville in 1832, and the post office closed in 1914. [ 3 ]
In 1931, US 36 was extended from Indianapolis to Cadiz, superseding SR 200, SR 29 from Greenville to Urbana, SR 55 from Urbana to SR 4, SR 32 from Marysville to Delaware, SR 95 from Mt. Vernon to Coshocton, SR 16 from Coshocton to Uhrichsville. [3] [4] [5] By 1974, US 36 was truncated from Cadiz to Uhrichsville. [6] [7] [8]
