A useful acronym is the ‘SLOB’ rule, which stands for “same lingual opposite buccal”. This means that when looking at the radiographs from e.g. a left to right direction, if the canine has moved in the same direction, then following the “same lingual” part of the rule, the canine is positioned lingually.
