Hillsdale College is a private, conservative, [4] [5] Christian [6] [7] [8] liberal arts college in Hillsdale, Michigan. It was founded in 1844 by members of the Free Will Baptists . [ 9 ] Women were admitted to the college in 1844, making the college the second-oldest coeducational educational institution in the United States.

Since becoming the college's president, several new buildings have arisen on the campus. In 2002, Arnn was appointed a trustee at The Heritage Foundation.
He joined Hillsdale College in 2006, and became a full professor in 2012. He has been the dean of the Graduate School since 2010, and he is also the Charles and Lucia Shipley chair in the American Constitution.
