Feb 1949 but most likely the 50's. Gear during wwii was fungus proofed then after the war it was mildew proofed and I believe mildew resistent treated in the 50's. I think the MRT process was patented by Pacific Mills in 1950. Additionally the ends are solid (d) and carbine slings were still using c style ends in 1943. Just an observation.

  4. M1 Carbine Web Sling A Reproduction Or Original?

    www.usmilitariaforum.com/forums/index.php?/topic/351986-m1...

Looking for opinions on this M1 Carbine Web Sling. Is it a Reproduction or Original? It is almost in perfect condition, not marked, but on the hardware there is a W or M in an oval. Very tiny bit of slight rust on hardware. Many thanks!

FIREARMS, ORDNANCE & EDGED WEAPONS. FIREARMS. M1 web sling. Hi all, I've had this sling for a while and since it is unmarked I'm not entirely sure if it is a WW2, post war or even Danish example. I've seen some threads on here about the M1 sling and to my eyes it looks like it could be a WW2 one but I'm far from an expert on these things.

Not the best carbine and I'm sure it's not correct or matching but it was the first military one I picked up. I had a couple of universal carbines I picked up before this. At the time (about 2002-03 I think?) You could buy a universal at the flea market for $100-$150. You would see them a little ...

Here’s some pictures of the car being put together. Also added my 1942 ammo pouches, and boxes of dummy training rounds and live ammunition that were produced summer of 1942. And a USMC M1 Carbine qualification book. it has its 1942 issued sling, and the earliest AI marked 15 round magazine.

January 22, 2013. I've had one of those USMC marked slings for many years, but I'm always been suspicious of it. It just doesn't feel right to me. For comparison, here is a real unmarked Reising sling at the top, and a Carbine sling at the bottom. The top sling is 1" wide webbing very much like all WW2 straps are made.

There is the story about Audie Murphy going on the Merv Griffin Show and quoting the serial number of his M1 Carbine. A viewer had purchased that exact rifle and made the effort to get the carbine back to Audie Murphy. In this day and age, whoever owned it would have put it on a large auction and expected a signifi.
