The Triad District was formed by consolidation in 1954. The district consists of the communities of Troy, St. Jacob, and Marine, which are all located in Madison County. The Triad varsity cheerleading squad won Illinois Cheerleading Coaches Association (ICCA) state titles in 2001 and 2002 in the Medium Varsity division.
