Ashburn is a rapidly growing census-designated place (CDP) in Loudoun County, Virginia, United States. At the 2010 United States census , its population was 43,511, [ 4 ] up from 3,393 in 1990. It is 30 miles (48 km) northwest of Washington, D.C. , and part of the Washington metropolitan area .
Chicago's Ashburn community is to its north, Beverly is to its east, and Beverly and Mount Greenwood are to its south. According to the 2021 census gazetteer files, Evergreen Park has a total area of 3.16 square miles (8.18 km 2),all land. [17] U.S. Route 12 and U.S. Route 20 bisect Evergreen Park as 95th street.
Ashburn, which got its name as the dumping site for the city's ashes, was slow to experience growth at the beginning of the 20th century. [citation needed] In 1893, the "Clarkdale" subdivision was planned near 83rd and Central Park Avenue along the new Chicago and Grand Trunk Railway, with only 19 homes built in the first 50 years.
Ashburn Village has four recreation centers and five swimming pools, four outdoor and one indoor. Its largest recreation center is the Ashburn Village Sports Pavilion, located in the center of the community. The Pavilion contains a full size gymnasium, weight rooms, and enclosed tennis courts. There are also fitness classes and events held there.
