H1000 is the easy button for the 6.5 PRC and 156 Berger combination. If you want more performance and are willing to do some testing, RL26 and N565 are great performers. 6.5 PRC Primers. For primers, we have found CCI BR2s and Federal 210Ms to work very well, with most rifles preferring the 210M. I would suggest picking one and doing load ...

It just seems that a lot of the slow powders (N570, Retumbo, H1000 etc) end up being compressed, at least in my long action. In a 6.5 PRC, in a short action that would be only worse. This is with a heavy bullet like the 156 or 150..... So Hodgdon has load data for the 6.5 PRC and Staball HD. You can look it up.
Good afternoon! Wanting to see if anyone on her has done load development for the Berger 156g EOL, 153.5g LRHT, & 144g LRHT for a 6.5 PRC. If so what powders/charges, what did your ladder test look like for minimum charge - maximum charge, & how was your success? I'm currently working on a...
Hi guys, I’m loading 6.5 PRC - Lapua Brass with Fed. 210’s, Reloder 26, and Hornady 147 ELDMS. Hornady’s load data shows 55.7 gr. Max load. I’m shooting a Weatherby Vanguard with a 24” barrel and have loaded up to 60.0 grains without pressure signs. At 56.8 grains I’m getting 2820 fps...
Good morning SH, I need some help choosing the correct load. Back story, I've ran load development with H1000, 56.2gr 2.3030" CBTO, but have ran out of powder, can not find it anywhere, and stumbled upon some RL 26. With H1000 it was obvious and clear which charge weight worked the best. It...
Hey is there anyone out there willing to share load data for the 135 bergers in a 6.5 prc? I went to look at my nosler manual thinking there would be something very close that I could use but realized nosler only has 130's and 140's so I'm kind of out of luck there. Ive ordered a berger manual...
Just today I shot the 6.5 PRC threw a chronograph 57.2grs of N565 Nosler 140gr RDF shot 3075 ,Sierra 142gr HPBT shot 3110 . Earlier I mentioned I thought I was seeing slight ejector marks ,FAKE NEWS ...LOL When seating the primers ,they were a normal snug fit .With both bullets I was shooting steel at 611 yards in Nevada desert .
Just acquired a Sauer 100 in 6.5 PRC and, since I still can't find RL26, went ahead and bought some Staball HD. I'm looking for anyone willing to share any load data/experience they might have with this powder and caliber. I have a bunch of 120gr Nosler BTs left over from my 6.5-06 I'd like to...
We just loaded a 6.5 PRC for a customer with the 124g Hammer Hunter. We used rl26, wlrm primers, and Bertram brass. Loaded them at 2.900" coal. We finished the load at 60g and a vel of 3235 fps. This is a stout load and should be worked up to. A good start would be 55g. Hodgdon has some load data but not a lot.
