Speeco seems to be the only company that builds a true category 1 quick hitch that doesn't need bushings. I've been trying to figure out why the other manufacturers require bushings, I can't imagine it makes the implement stronger, it shouldn't affect the distribution of force, does someone know of a reason why buying a quick hitch that requires bushings is better?
We need to buy another quick hitch as it's a pain sharing the one iMatch we have between tractors. Noticed the Speeco Quick Hitch - sold as a FarmForce brand at TSC. The Speeco unit looks beefier than the JD imatch and it has an adjustable top hook. Best of all - it's about $75 cheaper that the iMatch. Anybody have experience with the Speeco's.

I am just not trying to hook up a Speeco Cat 1 quick hitch that I purchased last winter used. I am having a heck of a time getting my Woods brush hog to hook up. I welded some ears on the top link attachment arms to rectify an interference issue I was having with the top hook on the quick hitch.
I've seen quick hitch discussions on here where people have said that the speeco and HF are almost identical and probably came out of the same factory in China. I have a HF QH and have not looked at a speeco so I can't comment on that assertion. Just comments I've seen.
And I had settled on the Heavy Hitch Category-1 Three-Point Hitch Receiver Drawbar With Dual Weight Bracket, based on info from TTWT and others, because of its versatility and its ability to let me max out ballast for the 1025R I plan to purchase soon. However - the product page for that Heavy Hitch says it, "Will not work with the SpeeCo Quick ...

But I don't weld, don't want a new project, and just want a good quick hitch. Given the relatively low prices of even the most expensive quick hitches, I am OK spending more for a no-hassle quick hitch. Are there good all-around quick hitches available that will permit fairly effortless service without modification.
Don't the bushings bring up the size to Cat 2 so it fits in the poor and confusingly named 'Cat 1 quick hitch'? Shouldn't this QH really be called a Cat 2 quick hitch, that works with Cat 1 impliments that have Cat 2 bushings so they fit? I've seen the GWT videos of the Speeco E-hitch. I am all in favor of using a bushing-free solution.
