Doom II, also known as Doom II: Hell on Earth, is a first-person shooter game in the Doom franchise developed by id Software. It was released for MS-DOS in 1994 and Mac OS in 1995. Unlike the original Doom , which was initially only available through shareware and mail order, Doom II was sold in stores.

After completing Doom, id Software began working on a sequel using the same engine, Doom II, which was released to retail on October 10, 1994, ten months after the first game. GT Interactive had approached id before the release of Doom with plans to release a retail version of Doom and Doom II.
Thankfully this Doom seems to be the real deal, as Bethesda's impressive gameplay showing last year teased, and release date announcement of May 13, 2016 confirmed.
