Riverside are a Polish progressive rock band from Warsaw.They were founded in 2001 by friends Mariusz Duda, Piotr Grudziński, Piotr Kozieradzki and Jacek Melnicki, who shared a love for progressive rock and heavy metal, although Duda, the main lyricist and composer of the band, was originally a fan of electronic, ambient, experimental music, like Radiohead, Massive Attack, Dead Can Dance ...
Wasteland is the seventh studio album by Polish progressive rock band Riverside.The album was released on 28 September 2018, through InsideOut Music.The album reached number one in Poland and Sweden, the top 20 in Germany, and the top 40 in Austria, Finland, the Netherlands and Switzerland.
It is the first album to feature lead guitarist Maciej Meller as a full member, who had replaced Piotr Grudziński (following his death in 2016) as a touring member in 2017 before joining the band as a full member in 2020. [3] Meller was featured on Wasteland, but only as a guest. The cover was created by Polish artist Jarek Kubicki. [4]
In 2016 he joined to Maciej Meller and Maciej Gołyźniak, to form the side project Meller Gołyźniak Duda, releasing the albums Breaking Habits in 2016 and Live in 2018. [ 3 ] On 26 June 2020 he released his debut solo album called Lockdown Spaces , an electronic record composed during the recording sessions for Lunatic Soul's seventh album.
Lunatic Soul is a progressive rock side-project, founded by Riverside vocalist and bass guitarist Mariusz Duda in 2008. [1] Originally conceived to allow him to explore genres outside of rock, the project was described by Duda in 2014 as progressive, ambient, oriental and electronic. [2] Lunatic Soul has released seven albums to date.
