Pope is an unincorporated community in Perry County, Tennessee. [1] [2] [3] The community hosts a volunteer fire department. [4] A now-closed post office opened in the community in 1886. [5] In the 1950s, a small public school was in operation in the community, though by 1999 the building had fallen into disuse and disrepair.
Pope Francis Preparatory School is a Catholic co-educational college-preparatory high school in Springfield, Massachusetts. The school was originally opened as Cathedral High School in 1883 by the Sisters of Saint Joseph at St. Michael's Cathedral. In 2011, the school's building was destroyed by a tornado. [2]
Prior to 1925, the school was located on Main Street on the property where "The Center", the recreational center in Springfield, is located. In 1925, the school moved to the former campus of Peoples-Tucker School, which had been closed. The school remained on that campus until 1982 when it was moved to Highway 76 East at its present location.
