The Isuzu Panther is a series of station wagons and pickup trucks manufactured by Isuzu from 1991 until 2020 mainly for the Southeast Asian market. The second generation Panther was also manufactured and marketed in India under the name Chevrolet Tavera, a name which is also used in Indonesia for the petrol version until 2005.
The predecessor to the MU-X, the Isuzu MU-7 is a D-Max-based SUV with a three-row seating arrangement. The MU-7 was released in Thailand in November 2004, being advertised as a "Sport Utility Wagon". [4] The MU-7 has the same front fascia and chassis as the D-Max but has a covered rear end instead of a truck bed.

Isuzu resurrected the beloved Amigo in 1998, before changing the name of the 2-door convertible to Rodeo Sport in 2001 in an attempt to associate it with the better selling 4-door Rodeo. The new Axiom launched in 2001, with the fictional salesman Joe Isuzu from 1980s advertising campaigns brought back to promote it.
Isuzu North America also offered a three-door version under the name Isuzu Amigo, sold as the Isuzu MU in Japan. A second generation of the SUV was released in 1998 for the 1998 model year, with the three-door Amigo becoming the "Rodeo Sport" in 2000 for the 2001 model year.
