The Vedanta Society built its first temple, called the Old Temple, in North America in San Francisco in 1905. [Note 1] [1] [2] [3] This temple has evolved into a bona fide Hindu temple. The ISKCON Salem temple, also known as the Sri Gaura Radha Gukulananda Temple of Vedic Knowledge and Culture, is located on Hare Krishna Land, Karuppur, Salem.
