A wireless ad hoc network [1] (WANET) or mobile ad hoc network (MANET) is a decentralized type of wireless network. The network is ad hoc because it does not rely on a pre-existing infrastructure, such as routers or wireless access points. Instead, each node participates in routing by forwarding data for other nodes.
The random waypoint model was first proposed by Johnson and Maltz. [2] It is one of the most popular mobility models [3] to evaluate mobile ad hoc network (MANET) routing protocols, because of its simplicity and wide availability. In random-based mobility simulation models, the mobile nodes move randomly and freely without restrictions.
IDEF, initially an abbreviation of ICAM Definition and renamed in 1999 as Integration Definition, is a family of modeling languages in the field of systems and software engineering. They cover a wide range of uses from functional modeling to data, simulation, object-oriented analysis and design, and knowledge acquisition. These definition ...
Twill: Use Apache Hadoop YARN's distributed capabilities with a programming model that is similar to running threads; Usergrid: an open-source Backend-as-a-Service ("BaaS" or "mBaaS") composed of an integrated distributed NoSQL database, application layer and client tier with SDKs for developers looking to rapidly build web and/or mobile ...
Orleans scales from a single on-premises server to highly-available and globally distributed applications in the cloud. [4] The virtual actor model is based on the actor model but has several differences: [5] A virtual actor always exists, it cannot be explicitly created or destroyed. Virtual actors are automatically instantiated.
Middleware gained popularity in the 1980s as a solution to the problem of how to link newer applications to older legacy systems, although the term had been in use since 1968. [2] It also facilitated distributed processing, the connection of multiple applications to create a larger application, usually over a network.

UML (Unified Modeling Language) is a modeling language used by software developers. [1] UML can be used to develop diagrams and provide users (programmers) with ready-to-use, expressive modeling examples. [note 1] Some UML tools generate program language code from UML. [2] UML can be used for modeling a system independent of a platform language.
