Naomi Pomeroy (November 30, 1974 – July 13, 2024) was an American chef and restaurateur. Pomeroy in 2009 was listed by Food & Wine magazine as one of America's Top 10 Best New Chefs and in 2014 won the James Beard Foundation Award for Best Chef Northwest. Pomeroy was influential in developing Portland, Oregon's culinary scene.
James Edward Anderson (April 20, 1937 – March 4, 2024) was an American college basketball player and coach. He was a longtime assistant at Oregon State University (OSU) to head coaches Paul Valenti and Ralph Miller, given credit for recruiting a series of top-level players to the school during the 1970s and 1980s.
John Vincent Byrne (May 9, 1928 – January 11, 2024) was an American marine geologist and academic. He served as the 3rd administrator of the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration from 1981 to 1984, and as the 12th president of Oregon State University from 1984 to 1995.

Clemens Starck (November 30, 1937– March 21, 2024) [1] was an American poet. He is the author of seven books of poems, and recipient of the 1996 William Stafford Memorial Poetry Award [2] and the Oregon Book Award for Journeyman's Wages. Two of his other books were also finalists for the Oregon Book Award. [3]
