Italian-American cuisine (Italian: cucina italoamericana) is a style of Italian cuisine adapted throughout the United States. Italian-American food has been shaped throughout history by various waves of immigrants and their descendants, called Italian Americans.

Initially, the restaurant group consisted of one brand, Bravo! Cucina Italiana. The first restaurant opened in Columbus, Ohio. Eventually, the restaurant group launched a second similar, but more upscale brand, Brio Tuscan Grille in Columbus as well. In October 2010, BDI went public and became Bravo Brio Restaurant Group (BBRG).

The Maisonette was opened by Nathan L. Comisar in 1949 in the basement space beneath La Normandie, also owned by Comisar, in the Fountain Square Building in Cincinnati. [1] [3] Comisar named the restaurant after a club by the same name in the St. Regis Hotel in New York City. [4] In 1964 it was awarded its first Mobil 5-star award. [3]
The building has a 90-seat restaurant, which was formerly Julia's Kitchen, a Julia Child-themed restaurant that operated while Copia existed as a museum. The Restaurant at CIA Copia focuses on serving shared plates served tableside by CIA chefs. Dishes are inspired by the Napa Valley harvest and CIA gardens, and paired with cocktails or wines.
