The Ricoh Company, Ltd. (/ ˈ r iː k oʊ /) (株式会社リコー, Kabushiki-gaisha Rikō) is a Japanese multinational imaging and electronics company.It was founded by the now-defunct commercial division of the Institute of Physical and Chemical Research (Riken) known as the Riken Concern, on 6 February 1936 as Riken Sensitized Paper (理研感光紙, Riken Kankōshi).
PFU Limited (株式会社PFU, Kabushiki gaisha Pī Efu Yū) is a Japanese information technology company jointly owned by Ricoh and Fujitsu, formed by the merger of Panafacom and USAC Electronic Industrial in 1987.
Nashuatec was one of the main brands used by parent company Ricoh to sell office equipment within Europe. It was particularly strong in Germany and the Netherlands where it had the biggest share. Along with Rex Rotary and Gestetner, it was one of the three brands of the NRG Group. NRG Group has now been merged into Ricoh Europe as of 1 April 2007.
The company was renamed NRG Group PLC, and markets and services Ricoh products under its three main brand names, primarily in Europe, South Africa and the Middle East, but also through dealers throughout the world. In Europe, Gestetner Group became NRG Group, which on 1 April 2007 became Ricoh Europe.

In 2011, Hoya spun off the Pentax brand's digital camera business, which was then acquired by Ricoh, leading to the establishment of Pentax Ricoh Imaging (current Ricoh Imaging). As a response to growing interest in film photography, Pentax launched the Pentax 17 on June 17, 2024. The Pentax 17 is a half-frame film camera. [1]
