He began his career as vocalist and original frontman of Rivermaya and later fronted his own band, Bamboo.
It's Not Easy Being Green is the fourth studio album by Filipino rock band Rivermaya, released on January 14, 1999. [1] The album features the singles "Nerbyoso", "Rodeo", and "Shattered Like". It is the first album after Bamboo Mañalac's departure. This is also their first album with Rico Blanco as the lead vocalist.
In 2003, after living in Los Angeles following the Rivermaya tour in America, Mañalac returned to the Philippines. Azarcon introduced Mañalac to Cruz and Vic Mercado (drums) and together, they formed Bamboo. In January 2011, News had been circulating that Bamboo has allegedly disbanded.

Rico Rene Granados Blanco (born March 17, 1973) is a Filipino singer, songwriter, multi-instrumentalist, record producer, actor, endorser and entrepreneur. He began his career as one of the founding members, and served as the chief songwriter, vocalist, guitarist, and keyboardist of the Filipino rock band Rivermaya from 1994 until 2007, and has been a solo artist since 2008.
