The Malaysian Bar (Malay: Badan Peguam Malaysia) is a professional body which regulates the profession of lawyers in peninsular Malaysia. In Malaysia, there is no distinction between a barrister and a solicitor, in that, it is a fused profession.
The Kuala Lumpur Bar was established on 1 July 1992 at a general meeting of advocates & solicitors practising in the Federal Territory of Kuala Lumpur held under section 68(4) of the Legal Profession Act 1976. [1]

Tommy Thomas (born 3 September 1952) is a Malaysian barrister and the former Attorney General of Malaysia from 2018 to 2020. [1] [2] [3] He was the first practising barrister to be appointed directly from the Malaysian Bar to be the Attorney General, [4] and the first non-Malay and non-Muslim Malaysian to hold this post after the formation of Malaysia in 1963.
Nallini served on committees of the Malaysian Bar Council and was a member of the Disciplinary Committee Panel of the Advocates & Solicitors Disciplinary Board. As of 2007, she is a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators. [4] She is also the chairperson of the Malaysian Middle Temple Alumni Association. [3]

Sulaiman Abdullah obtained a master's degree in law from University of London in 1979 and a diploma in Syariah Law and Practice from the International Islamic University Malaysia in 1992. [3] Sulaiman Abdullah was a Universiti Malaya law lecturer and served as both Malaysian Bar secretary (1993-1995) and president (2000-2001). [3]
