9 – 10 April 2021: A generic BBC ident, featuring a gold coloured BBC logo forming onto a blue background in silence, followed by the continuity announcer saying, "This is the BBC". This ident was first seen to introduce special programming across both BBC One and BBC Two following the death of Prince Philip, the Duke of Edinburgh, on 9 April.
On 27 September 2018, the 1991–2001 idents were retired once again and BBC Two introduced a new set of idents, based on scenes incorporating a curve motif resembling the number 2. The new branding is designed to reflect BBC Two's "constant evolution, constant eclecticism, [and] constant sense of quality".
The ident package was retained following the corporate rebrand of the BBC on 20 October 2021, with the 2021 BBC logo being placed at the top of the screen, while "TWO" remains at the bottom, with the font changed to BBC Reith Sans.

14 November – BBC Two announces that the 1991 idents are to be axed and to be replaced by a new set of four computer-generated idents on 19 November. [ 188 ] 19 November – BBC Two introduces a new set of four computer-generated idents at 7am, replacing the previous set of over 20 (four of which dating back to 1991).
In 2002, the BBC One balloon idents were discontinued, as was the globe. The BBC Two idents that were in use since 1991 had been discontinued shortly before. BBC One's idents were replaced with a new series known as "Rhythm & Movement", which were themed around dance and multiculturalism.
