PIMS Associates in London has been the worldwide competence and design center for PIMS since the 1990s and has been part of Malik Management (Fredmund Malik) in St. Gallen (Switzerland) since 2005. The PIMS project analyses the data they had gathered to identify the options, problems, resources and opportunities faced by each SBU.
PIMs are composed of a fused ring sequences interrupted by Spiro-centers or other sites of contortion along the backbone. Due to their fused ring structure PIMs cannot rotate freely along the polymer backbone, ensuring the macromolecular components conformation cannot rearrange and ensuring the highly contorted shape is fixed during synthesis.
Important tasks of a PIMS are: Company-wide gather, consolidate and process data; Analysis of production performance, product quality, process capacity and control compliance.
