Ninnekah is located in west-central Grady County. It is bordered to the north by the city of Chickasha, the county seat. U.S. Route 81 passes through the town, leading north 7 miles (11 km) into Chickasha and south 32 miles (51 km) to Duncan. U.S. Route 277 splits west from US 81 in Ninnekah and leads 11 miles (18 km) to Cement.
A group of German Catholics built the community's first church in 1845 and dedicated it to Saint Hubertus. Today, the community that formed around the church also bears the saint's name. [10] The Messer-Mayer Gristmill was built on Coney Creek in Richfield in 1871-73. The building is listed on the National Register of Historic Places. [11]
