In 1992 Antonio Peña founded a new wrestling promotion called Asistencia Asesoría y Administración (AAA), signing Tapia to a contract early on. Peña came up with the idea to repackage Tapia as "La Parka" (an altered spelling of La Parca, Spanish for "The Reaper"), a character who wore a full bodysuit and mask that resembled a skeleton like the ones used in Mexico's Day of the Dead ceremonies.
Originally he wrestled under the name "Black Spirit", keeping the family relation to L.A. Park secret. He has been using the El Hijo de L.A. Park name since 2011. His real name is not a matter of public record, as is often the case with masked wrestlers in Mexico, where their private lives are kept a secret from the wrestling fans. [5]

In 2000 Super Parka, along with Super Caló, Halloween, and Damián 666 toured Japan, wrestling for All Japan Pro Wrestling (AJPW) in August and September 2000. Super Parka would later return to AJPW, teaming with La Parka.
