Bukit Merah (Jawi: بوكيت ميره; Chinese: 红泥山 Tamil: புக்கிட் மேரா) is a village with population of 11,000, located near Ipoh. In 1992 and again notably in 2011, it attracted attention for radioactive pollution and health problems due to rare-earth mining in the decade or more before the mine closed in 1992.

Bukit Merah, also known as Redhill, is a planning area and new town situated in the southernmost part of the Central Region of Singapore. The planning area borders Tanglin to the north, Queenstown to the west and the Downtown Core , Outram and Singapore River planning areas of the Central Area to the east.
The planning area shares boundaries with the following – River Valley and Museum to the north, Tanglin and Bukit Merah to the west, Outram to the south, and the Downtown Core to the east. Since 2008, the Singapore River was turned into a fresh water river after the completion of the Marina Barrage at Marina South .
