Hans "Dolph" Lundgren (/ ˈ l ʌ n d ɡ r ən /, Swedish: [ˈdɔlːf ˈlɵ̌nːdɡreːn] ⓘ; born 3 November 1957) is a Swedish-American actor, filmmaker, martial artist and chemical engineer. Born in Spånga , a community in Stockholm County , Sweden , Lundgren became interested in martial arts at a young age.
Lundgren received a degree in chemical engineering from the Royal Institute of Technology in the early 1980s and a master's degree in chemical engineering from the University of Sydney in 1982. He holds the rank of 4th dan black belt in Kyokushin karate and was European champion in 1980–81.
