Argentine Navy A-4Q 0655/3-A-202, preserved at the Argentine Naval Aviation Museum, in 2007. The Douglas A-4 Skyhawk is an American single-engine carrier-capable lightweight attack aircraft designed for the United States Navy.
They had three weapon pylons and served in the 5th Air Brigade (Spanish: V Brigada Aérea). During 1976, 25 A-4Cs were ordered to replace the North American F-86 Sabres still in service in the 4th Air Brigade (Spanish: IV Brigada Aérea). They were received as is and refurbished to flight status by Air Force technicians at Río Cuarto, Córdoba.

It was founded in the mid-1970s by former Pueblo City Manager Fred Weisbrod. The museum is made up of two hangars that were built in 2005 and 2011.

After Naval Air Station South Weymouth closed in 1997, the Patriot Squadron of the Association of Naval Aviation created a historical society to establish a museum. [1] That year the group dedicated the Shea Memorial Grove, named after Lieutenant Commander John J. Shea, consisting of a park with a Douglas A-4B Skyhawk mounted on a pedestal. [2]

A number of the project's aircraft were previously on display at the Intrepid Sea, Air & Space Museum. [4] [5] [6] In May 2002, the Berlin Airlift Historical Foundation's KC-97 arrived at the project's hangar. [7] The project provided space to the foundation as they restored the aircraft.
