Villa College Lakeside Campus (VCLC) is located in Shaviyani Funadhoo at a very picturesque location. The campus is surrounded by a beautiful lake with several domesticated animals across the lake. The campus offers certificate level and degree foundation programs and is expected to offer degree programs from 2014 onwards.

It is a public school under the jurisdiction of Ministry of Education which provides preschool, primary, secondary and higher secondary education. There are 455 students currently studying in the school. In addition, an outreach center under the Faculty of Open Learning of Maldives National University was recently established in the island.
These private schools no longer exist, as western style schools replaced them in the 1980s-1990s. The first western-style school in the Maldives is Majeediyya School, a secondary established in 1927. [2] The school was originally co-educational, but it was felt necessary to create a second school for girls (Aminiya School) in 1944. [3]
Maldives Polytechnic is a Maldivian government training institute established to offer technical and vocational education and training [1] throughout the country. It was previously known as VTC, MITE, and then became a Faculty of MCHE (now Maldives National University ) and now Maldives Polytechnic under the Ministry of Higher Education.
