The Ghetto Kids – formerly Triplets Ghetto Kids – are a dance/music group founded in 2014 by Daouda Kavuma composed of children from the Katwe slums in Kampala, Uganda. They have appeared on major platforms across the world – featuring in French Montana 's " Unforgettable " video and performing at a World Cup 2022 event in Qatar .
A commercial dance video was made for the song. It came out on YouTube on 23 August 2021. It featured Ykee Benda dancing with The Tripplet Ghetto Kids. The dance moved were choreographed by Eddie Wizzy and the video was directed by IVASH RS from Mpaka films. [3] [4]
A YouTube video featuring a group of Ugandan children known as the Ghetto Kids dancing to the song went viral after it was shared on social media by record executive Sean Combs in September 2014. As of March 2022 the video has accumulated nearly 42 million views on YouTube.
The song was nominated for Channel O Music Video Awards in 2014 for the "International Viewers' Choice Award". [3]The song was cited for Eddy Kenzo's win of "Viewer's Choice Award" during the Afro-Australia Music and Movie Awards (AAMMA) also in 2014 [4] Kenzo also won the HiPipo Music Awards for category "Best Use of Social Media by Artist" mainly for his work on the "Sitya Loss" release.
