The following is a list of Pennsylvania state high school football championships sanctioned by the Pennsylvania Interscholastic Athletic Association (PIAA) since 1988. [1] This list is organized by the six classes the schools are organized by: Class A (1A), Class AA (2A), Class AAA (3A), Class AAAA (4A), Class AAAAA (5A) and Class AAAAAA (6A).
The championship games date back to 1960 where West Chester was the first to win, however champions had been selected by sportswriters and the Saylor Point System since 1934. Champions have been decided every year since then, except for three years during World War II , and in 2020 during the COVID-19 pandemic when PSAC did not compete.
However, the PIAA only sponsors state championships for 12 boys' sports and 12 girls' sports. The following is a list of PIAA sponsored sports championships. Boys' sports: baseball, basketball, cross country, football, golf, lacrosse, soccer, swimming and diving, tennis, track and field, volleyball and wrestling

The PIAA divides its schools into 12 districts for state championship competitions. All 67 counties in Pennsylvania belong to a distinct district. The district breakdown and the counties included are as follows: District I or District 1 (Bucks, Chester, Delaware and Montgomery). [2]
