Anchored Instruction is a technology centered learning approach, which falls under the social constructionism paradigm. It is a form of situated learning [ 2 ] that emphasizes problem-solving within an integrated learning context, which can be examined from multiple perspectives.

[6] The classic definition of PCK proposed by Shulman included one dynamic and complex relationship between two different knowledge bodies: content knowledge and pedagogical knowledge.
Instruction must be situated in an authentic context that resembles that of the classroom teacher to enrich their learning process by providing realistic experiences that more easily transfer. [ 19 ] Students process information by visualizing, hearing, reasoning and reflecting so they tend to learn more easily by having models to go by or imitate.
The worked-example effect is a learning effect predicted by cognitive load theory. Just-in-time teaching was developed for university level physics instructors in the late 1990s, but its use has since spread to many other academic disciplines. Early work was done in the physics department at Indiana University – Purdue University Indianapolis (IUPUI) in collaboration with physics instructors at Davidson College and the United States Air Force Academy (USAFA).
