Meyer and chef René Redzepi co-founded the groundbreaking restaurant Noma, an acronym for "Nordisk Mad" (Nordic Food), as a working laboratory and kitchen to foster and realize the theoretical ideas of the New Nordic Cuisine Movement.
Redzepi planned to keep this open for at least a part of the summer 2020. In 2021, Noma won first place on the World's Best Restaurant 2021 list.
