Greenwell Springs is an area of Central, Louisiana, United States, a city in the Baton Rouge metropolitan area. [ 2 ] [ 3 ] It was previously distinct unincorporated community in East Baton Rouge Parish .
The highway heads northeast along Greenwell Springs Road and, about a mile after exiting the city limits, curves northward. Now running parallel with the Amite River , LA 37 begins a concurrency with LA 64 that lasts through much of Central , a newer city that encompasses smaller communities such as Greenwell Springs .
Here, LA 64 turns east while LA 37 continues ahead on Greenwell Springs Road toward Baton Rouge. LA 64 proceeds as an undivided four-lane highway across the Amite River via the Magnolia Bridge, simultaneously crossing out of East Baton Rouge Parish and the city of Central and into unincorporated Livingston Parish. Louisiana Highway 408 (LA 408) runs 12.28 miles (19.76 km) in an east–west direction from a local road in Baton Rouge to a junction with the concurrent LA 37/LA 64 in Central, East Baton Rouge Parish. The route heads southeast from LA 408 (Hooper Road) along Sullivan Road. It then turns east onto Wax Road, which transitions onto Magnolia Bridge Road. The route ends at an intersection with LA 37/LA 64 (Greenwell Springs Road) just west of the Amite River. LA 3034 is an undivided two-lane highway for its entire length.
