For King & Country, stylised as for KING & COUNTRY and formerly known as Joel & Luke as well as Austoville, is a Christian pop duo composed of Australian brothers Joel (born 5 June 1984) and Luke Smallbone (born 22 October 1986). [1] The brothers were born in Australia and emigrated to the United States as children, settling in the Nashville area.
Australian-American Christian pop duo For King & Country was formed in 2012, after around 5 years of attempting to write music under the names Joel & Luke and Austoville. The band is made up of two brothers, named Joel Smallbone and Luke Smallbone.
The group was signed to Warner Bros. Records and later changed its name to For King & Country. [2] Smallbone began his acting career in 2013 by playing King Xerxes in The Book of Esther and as Jake Reeson in Like a Country Song. [6] In 2016, Smallbone was cast in the leading role of James Stevens in the film Priceless. [7]
