The T. H. Mathis House, at 612 Church St. in Rockport, Texas, is a historic Greek Revival-style house built in 1867. It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1971. [1] It is a Recorded Texas Historic Landmark. The residence was long owned by the same family.
The Rockport Art Association was founded in 1921. Its history has expanded over the past 100 years. In 1921, a group of artists that were attracted to the seaside village of Rockport decided to form the association. The association began in the previous art studio of Aldro T. Hibbard.

Aransas County (/ ə ˈ r æ n z ə s / ə-RAN-zəss) [1] is a county located in the U.S. state of Texas. It is in South Texas and its county seat is Rockport. [2] As of the 2020 census, the population was 23,830. [3] Aransas County comprises the Rockport, Texas micropolitan statistical area.
The area is just west of Rockport's noted Bearskin Neck area. Most of the 28 properties in the district are commercial buildings; there are also three churches, a library, and a number of residences. Only a few of these properties front on the side streets adjacent to Main Street; all abut Main Street.
