Lynne McGranger (born 29 January 1953) is an Australian actress, who rose to prominence for her portrayal as Irene Roberts on the Australian soap opera Home and Away for over 32 years. [ 1 ] [ 2 ] She joined the series in 1993, and is the longest serving female cast member of a television soap opera in Australia .
At the 2007 Inside Soap Awards she was nominated in the category of "Funniest Performance" for her portrayal. [13] Irene and Leah's friendship won the 2015 TV Week and Soap Extra #OMGAward for Best BFFs. [14] In August 2017, McGranger was longlisted for Best Daytime Star at the Inside Soap Awards. [15]
