It was the primary venue for basketball and other indoor sports until the Sojka Pavilion opened in 2003. [1] It hosted the Patriot League men's basketball tournament title game in 1993. [ 2 ] Following renovations in the 1990s to add reserved seats, Davis Gym's listed capacity was 2,500, though on occasion standing room crowds exceeded that.

Bucknell began varsity intercollegiate competition in men's basketball in 1896. [4] The Bison were retroactively recognized as the pre-NCAA tournament national champion for the 1900–01 season by the Premo-Porretta Power Poll. [5] In the tournament era, the Bison have appeared eight times in the NCAA tournament, most recently in 2018.
