Thomas Hunt (15 September 1841 – 8 December 1934) was an Australian politician.. Born in Cappawhite, County Tipperary, Ireland to John Hunt and Ann O'Brien, he arrived in Melbourne in May 1858 and settled in Kilmore, where he established Kilmore Free Press in 1865, later acquiring the Examiner.

Kilmore (/ ˈ k ɪ l m ɔːr /) [2] is a town in the Australian state of Victoria.Located 65 kilometres (40 mi) north of Melbourne, it is the oldest inland town in Victoria by the combination of age and physical occupation, and because it had unique agricultural attributes to drive that earliest settlement.
Football coverage in Kilmore was first published in The Leader newspaper back in 1873 [1] with the town boasting three football teams - North Kilmore FC, South Kilmore FC and the Heath's Club. [ 2 ] In July, 1874, Kilmore hosted the Hawthorn Football Club in a match [ 3 ] and also in May, 1875, resulting in a win to Kilmore.
OKR FM was first established under the name OK Radio – or Old Kilmore Radio – and in 2001 was successful in being granted a low power Narrowcast licence of 10 Watts in Kilmore. In 2002, the licence was surrendered in return for a Community licence, to permit greater depth in programming otherwise not permitted under a Narrowcast licence. [ 1 ]
