Sony α (the lower case to Greek letter alpha, often transliterated as Sony Alpha) is a brand of digital camera. This line has been active since 2006, building upon the Konica Minolta camera technologies, whose assets were acquired by Sony .

The Sony Alpha 68 or Sony ILCA-68 [1] (named internally; ILCA- although coming from the "Sony SLT camera" line of cameras) is a mid-size DSLT camera announced by Sony on November 5, 2015 [2] and available for purchase starting April 2016 (US) and March 2016 (Europe). Sony markets it as having "4D FOCUS for fast, accurate tracking autofocus".
Sony initially priced the α9 at $4,499 with an availability date in May 2017. The headline feature of the α9 is the 20 frames per second with a buffer of 240 raw or 362 JPEG images. This is accomplished without temporarily blacking out the finder for each exposure, unlike a DSLR . [ 4 ]
The Sony Alpha a550 (DSLR-A550) is a midrange-level digital single-lens reflex camera (DSLR) marketed by Sony and aimed at enthusiasts, it was released in August 2009. [1] The camera features a 14.2 megapixel APS-C Type CMOS Exmor Sensor and features Sony's patented SteadyShot INSIDE stabilisation system which works with any attached lens. [2]
The Sony Alpha 99 was announced by Sony on September 12, 2012. It was the flagship Sony DSLR camera and of the Sony Alpha SLT line [ 1 ] until late 2016 when it was replaced by the Sony α99 II . It features the 24.3MP 35mm full-frame Exmor APS HD CMOS sensor, with the normal sensor range of ISO 100–3200. [ 2 ]
The α100 shipped from Sony and resellers by the end of July 2006 with MSRP prices of US$1000 with the 18–70 mm f / 3.5–f/5.6 kit lens and US$900 for the body only. The camera retains the same autofocus lens mount that was introduced with the Minolta Maxxum 7000 in 1985, allowing the continued use of the millions of existing Minolta AF lenses.
