There's .223, 5.45 and 7.62 AK's. I don't know if the different calibers mean different mags, but I would bet so. Some AK's are 100% import (no US parts) and if so, can't be double stack. I think it has to be called a "sport rifle" or some crap like that, but either way it's single stack only.

View Full Version : What's with Dunhams in Taylor, MI. zino. 02-28-2009, 08:18 PM. I went to the Dunhams on Telegraph in Taylor, MI this afternoon and tried to purchase a rifle. I filled out the paperwork and the phone call was made and I got appoval. Then the clerk tells me they have a new store manager that has changed the firearm policy today.
Dunhams has a corporate policy to do an NCIC for every customer. CPLs CAN serve as a stand-in for the check, but nothing requires that FFL's honor the CPL to bypass the check. Guns sold by ffl dealers still need paper work fill out. On the other hand it is Dunhums policy to run a check even if you have a cpl.
I stopped by Dunham's today to check on their ammo status and to pick up some camouflage netting and a slip-on buttpad for my M44. Of course, I had to peruse the guns. There was a special on 91/30s, but they had all been claimed by the time I got there, which was a shame as I could have bought one this month.
A store like Dunhams (etc.) can add whatever requirements they want, as long as they aren't discriminating based on some protected class (race, religion, etc.). I have found that the major retailers are inflexible and somewhat more difficult in their paperwork requirements (for instance, calling NICS even though I have a CPL).

I only buy ammo from Dunhams on sale. Was in last week and bought 3 cases of Federal target load 12 Ga for $49/case.
