Madame Roulin and Her Baby is an 1888 painting by Vincent van Gogh. Done in oil on canvas, the painting depicts Augustine and Marcelle Roulin, the later of whom was an infant. The Roulin family became acquaintances of van Gogh after the family's patriarch, postman Joseph Roulin, met Van Gogh following the artist's relocation to the town of Arles.

Flowering trees were special to van Gogh. They represented awakening and hope. He enjoyed them aesthetically and found joy in painting flowering trees.

In March 2024, the painting was auctioned for an undisclosed sum over 4.5 million euros at The European Fine Art Fair in the Netherlands. [1] [6] The painting's seller, president of the M.S. Rau Gallery Bill Rau, said the painting was sold to a private museum "outside the European Union" and "it will be accessible to the public." [7]
