Prairie Creek Redwoods State Park is a state park, located in Humboldt County, California, near the town of Orick and 50 miles (80 km) north of Eureka. The 14,000-acre (57 km 2 ) park is a coastal sanctuary for old-growth Coast Redwood trees.
The California State Parks department, with additional help from the Save the Redwoods League, expanded the park to 10,036 acres (4,061 ha). The park is on land that was clear-cut during a forty-year period of logging (1883–1923) by the Loma Prieta Lumber Company. Evidence of logging operations, mill sites and trestles is visible in the park.

The Arbosana is an olive cultivar from Spain. Typically used for olive oil production, Arbosana thrives in super-high density growing systems. [1] In 2009, a study by UC Davis found that 16% of super-high density olive groves (1,687 acres) in California were Arbosana, and that along with Arbequina and Koroneiki, Arbosana olives were among the most common in the state.

Redwoods Rising is a joint venture of the Save the Redwoods League, California State Parks, and the National Park Service that works together to restore logged Coastal Redwood forests, and help remain old growth forests in Redwood National and State Parks. Redwoods Rising also works with local Native American tribes.
