Slammers was founded by brothers Walid and Ziad Khoury in 1994. [1] [2] As of 2020, the club has won 17 national championships and become one of the most successful youth clubs in the United States. [3] Slammers won the ECNL Girls Overall Club Championship in 2011–12, 2015–16, [4] 2018–19, 2020–21, [5] [6] and 2022–23. [7]
Tomozawa began his youth career with Hawaii Slammers FC before moving to Bellevue, Washington in 2013. He attended Bellevue High School, graduating in 2017. Major Island Soccer Organization is an amateur soccer league that is located in Oahu, Hawaii. Within this soccer league there are three divisions, Division I, Division II, and Division III. Divisions I and II have 10 teams each. Division III has 7. In the past, there were two different seasons in a year.
The ECNL is divided by age groups from U-13 through U-19, and into nine (girls') or ten (boys') regional conferences of nine to 16 clubs. Clubs play regular season matches within their conferences, and top teams and wildcards can qualify for a post-season national round-robin champions' league competition.
