The New Generation Party – Christian Democratic (Partidul Noua Generație - Creștin Democrat, PNGCD; formerly Partidul Noua Generație, PNG) was a nationalist political party in Romania.
Civic Force (FC) was founded in 2004 by former Bucharest mayor, Viorel Lis (who was previously a member of the Christian Democratic National Peasants' Party or PNȚCD for short), under the name 'Christian Party' (Romanian: Partidul Creștin). In 2007, Adrian Iurașcu became the president of the party, after which the party adopted its current name.
The PDL's ideology is influenced by liberal conservatism and social conservatism. In this respect the party is a member of the European People's Party (EPP) and the Centrist Democrat International (IDC–CDI). The PDL supports a consolidation of the free market and is supportive of Romania's flat-rate income tax of 16%.
