The Moorhead Public Library opened on July 12, 1906. This became possible when the city of Moorhead secured a Carnegie Grant for $10,000 in 1903. The Clay County Library system was formed in 1949 and three ways of extending their services were established.
Norwegians started settling in Norman County in the early 1870s and up until Dec. 27th, 1906 that also included what is now Mahnomen County (Ojibwe for "wild rice"). The county was created by the Minnesota legislature on March 17, 1881, with Ada (which had been founded in 1874) as county seat.
Buhl Public Library is the public library serving Buhl, Minnesota, United States. Its building was constructed from 1917 to 1918 with local tax revenue from a mining boom.
