Mad TV (stylized as MADtv) is an American sketch comedy television series created by David Salzman, Fax Bahr, and Adam Small. Loosely based on the humor magazine Mad , Mad TV' s pre-taped satirical sketches were primarily parodies of popular culture and occasionally politics.
The host and star of the show is Jamie Kennedy, a comedian who presented a reality TV format which combined hidden camera with sketch comedy. The show was a production of Bahr-Small Productions in association with Warner Bros. Television and Big Ticket Television and ran from January 13, 2002 until April 29, 2004.
The film is written by the creators of MADtv, Fax Bahr and Adam Small, who also serve as producers. The character of "B-Rad", a spoof of Eminem 's character "B-Rabbit" in the film 8 Mile , originally appeared in Jamie Kennedy's hidden-camera show The Jamie Kennedy Experiment , but started in his stand-up routine when he was starting out.
The show debuted with a two-hour, double-episode premiere on April 9, 2007. It was produced by FremantleMedia North America, with Cécile Frot-Coutaz, CEO of Fremantle, Fax Bahr, and Adam Small as executive producers. The show aired on Mondays for its first two weeks. It was moved to Wednesdays on April 18, 2007.
