The town of LaFayette was formed and organized on April 15, 1825, from parts of the Towns of Pompey and Onondaga [3] after the Marquis de Lafayette famously toured the United States in 1824/1825. Every year, the town holds an Apple Festival on the Saturday and Sunday before Columbus Day. [4]

The first Apple Festival was a huge success, drawing a crowd of nearly 20,000 people, and the festival has grown in size and quality every year.
