I finally gave my Huskee 22 ton to my BIL and got a new TSC 30 ton. It was on sale from $1599 to $1399, and I wanted one that day. I only had 10 cord split this year, but I sold out two weeks before Thanksgiving, paid for the machine with a little left for me. Next year I hope to have 20 cord, and that's all for me.
The pump comes with a 1/2" NPT outlet port as opposed to the original which had a M14x1.5 straight thread port. Harbor Freight/China loves the o-ring seal metric ports, and I had the same M22x1.75 hose/fittings that jpsp did. I decided to skin the cat a little differently on mine, and just went with a new hose and fittings.
It is actually on sale now so it is about $50 less They are similar designs but I would be very leery of the HF one as it says in the description it will split logs as thick as 8 inches. I don't even split logs that small. Sounds to me like that thing is for making kindling.
Greyhound ITEM # 66663. 9 HP, 24 Ton Log Splitter. It's on sale right now for $749 and with the 20% off coupon that makes it 599.80 plus the freight which puts it right back at 749 with tax out the door for me. I could not pull any specs other than it has a 9hp greyhound engine with an 11gpm pump. there is no reference to what cylinder size ...
Feb 26, 2017. #1. Hello everyone. I've done a bunch of searches not only here but also general google searches trying to get some certainty on this to no avail. I've got a Husky (Speeco) 22 ton log splitter with a Briggs 650 Series 190CC engine (Model 124T02-0121-B1) on it. After 7-8 years and many many hours of service it's time to replace it.
13060. Mar 3, 2023. #4. Well, I have a 27 ton Troy-bilt splitter with the Honda 160cc that I bought new in 2015. It runs great and only thing I have done to it in 8 years is put gas in and change oil once a year. I only split wood for my personal use so does not get worked that hard and is stored inside an unheated shed with cement floor.
Just put the harbor freight engine on it. It will be fine. There are hundreds if not thousands of those engines running log splitters out there. I’ve never heard anything about a hydraulic pump needing a special engine or heavy flywheel. If you go with the vertical engine you will have to wire the brake open and figure out a way to shut it off.
The recommended operating Fuel is standard 87 Octane or better Gasoline. It is also EPA and CARB approved for safe use in mandated areas. This Engine can handle everything you can throw at it, whether being used for log splitters, water transfer pumps, or custom go-karts, the DuroMax line of engines will deliver power when you need it.
Nov 18, 2019. #3. If your splitter is the basic 2 stage hydraulic pump based unit that is very common, nothing is special about the motor. You don't even have to worry about vertical or horizontal shafts because the pump doesn't matter. If the motor has the same rotation, the same size and style of shaft, the same mounting hole spacing, and the ...
Of course I bought the two year warranty for it, another $179, this is Harbor freight after all, and I also had to buy 3 gallons of hydraulic fluid, and a quart of oil, almost another $50. So I really spent $877.89 total.
