Moshi Co-operative University grew from a college enrolling only 150 students, conducting tailored courses, to a university college with a capacity of 1500 students. CAWM is commonly known as Mweka College. It was established in 1963 following the Arusha Manifesto (1961) as a pioneer institution for the training of African wildlife managers.

United World College East Africa (UWCEA) is an independent international school in Tanzania, and a member of the United World Colleges movement.
