Between the HiTorque 8.5x20 Deluxe Bench Lathe BY Little Machine Shop (LMS) and the Precision Mathews PM-1022 I've been running a Harbor Freight, and my 4-jaw chuck and ER-32 collets can be transferred over to the LMS. LMS is also 80 miles away.
I have a Little Machine Shop live center for my Jet mini (don't know Jet model) but I can't remember which one I ordered. Had it for years, still works great, and it's a great buy. Check the Little Machine Shop out. Their site may have more information. You could also call them and ask your question. When I got mine I ordered directly from them.
I am currently sorta shopping for a vertical mill/milling machine. Have done lots of looking around on The Little Machine Shop site and their Mini Mill buyers guide. I have also done some searching on the Precision Matthews site at their Benchtop mills. I notice that LMS offers a 1 year warranty whereas PM offers a 3 year warranty.

If you are wanting to make kitless pens, I'd suggest going with a slightly larger model. Most bespoke pens makers say you want something with higher torque which is generally in a quite large ($3,000+) model. But my little 7x12 works for them. Metal just takes a little bit of patience.

Congratulations on the new lathe, I believe it is identical to my 8.5 x 16 except for bed length. They are good solid little lathes . When I got mine, I had to go to the local UPS terminal and they loaded it on my truck with a fork lift. Upon arrival at home I backed truck up to shop door, opened boxes up and accessories were carried into shop.
